I have just finished reading and can say that I did not want the story to end. It took me a while to get in to, once I did, I was captive. The ideas, the politics, the landscape, the lives led by this society was very interesting. The characters were great. Don't expect to understand them early in the book for they reveal themselves as you progress. This is a book that will set you thinking about life now and what it could be like in the future. This is a future that I do not want, though the author still managed leave me with hope. There are rotten people and good people and beauty is everywhere for those with the eyes to see. I wouldn't hesitate to read another of Sam Uzi's books.
I've never read anything like this. Of course I admit I'm biased being a Sufi ...SUFI detective? I mean, really. I'm still trying to get over that one. This book also stands on it's own as science fiction and definitely not predictable. I don't want to say anything about the plot except don't miss the love story. A fine example of thinking outside the box.
